I studied English and Spanish for a secondary-school teaching degree at the Universität Freiburg and completed study periods at the Universidad de Granada (Spain) and Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge (UK). After completing my teacher training (Referendariat), I worked as a teacher at grammar schools and vocational schools.

From 2015 to 2018, I was a doctoral researcher in the DFG Research Training Group "Unterrichtsprozesse" at the University of Koblenz-Landau. I subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher in English Language Education at the Universität Göttingen (2018–2025), where I contributed to the third-party funded projects "Bühne frei" and "Innovation plus".

In the winter term 2023/24, I substituted for the TEFL professorship at the Universität Kassel. In the summer term 2024 and winter term 2024/25, I substituted for the TEFL professorship at Universität Göttingen.

In January 2026, I submitted a cumulative habilitation to the Faculty of Humanities at the Universität Göttingen.
